Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if individual therapy is right for me?
Individual therapy can be helpful if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or noticing patterns you’re struggling to change. You might be managing things on the outside—but internally feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure of what you need.
You don’t need a specific diagnosis or a “big” reason to begin. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a more intentional way. If something doesn’t feel quite right, that’s often enough of a reason to start.
What are your session fees?
Our fees vary depending on the type of service and the length of the session. Typically:
Consultation Call: Free 20 consult
Individual Therapy: $120 per 50-minute session
Teen Therapy: $120 per 50-minute session
Specialized Therapy (i.e. EMDR): $150 per 50-minute session
Couples Therapy: $175 per 50-minute session
Payment is due at the time of your appointment, and a receipt will be provided for your records or for insurance reimbursement. If you would like, you can contact us directly for current rates or to learn more about which service may be the best fit for you.
Do you accept insurance?
Psychotherapy services are often covered in full or in part through extended health benefits, but coverage depends on your individual insurance plan. We recommend checking with your provider to confirm whether services with a Registered Psychotherapist are included in your benefits.
Clients are responsible for payment at the time of the session, and a receipt is provided that you can submit for reimbursement if your plan allows. Because plans vary, it is always best to confirm the details of your coverage directly with your insurance company before starting.
What happens in an individual therapy session?
Sessions are guided conversations where we explore what’s bringing you in, along with your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This may include understanding patterns, processing past or current challenges, and identifying what feels most important to focus on.
The pace is collaborative and tailored to you. Some sessions may feel reflective and exploratory, while others may include practical tools or strategies you can apply in your day-to-day life.
How do I know if therapy is working?
Progress in therapy is often gradual and can show up in different ways. You might notice a greater awareness of your thoughts and emotions, improved ability to respond rather than react, or feeling more grounded in situations that used to feel overwhelming.
Over time, many people experience increased clarity, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of alignment with themselves.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed appointments, may be subject to a cancellation fee.
This policy helps protect your therapist’s time and allows us to offer the appointment to someone else who may be waiting. We understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we aim to approach these situations with care and clarity.
