Student Practicum Placements

Supervised virtual placements for counselling and psychotherapy students across Ontario

Intern with us

Holistic Path Psychotherapy welcomes practicum and internship students who are working toward registration as a Registered Psychotherapist (RP). As a fully virtual practice serving clients throughout Ontario, we offer placement students a chance to build real clinical skills in a supportive, ethically grounded environment under qualified supervision.

We believe strong therapists are grown through mentorship, reflection, and meaningful clinical experience — and we're committed to providing all three. Here's what a placement with us offers:

  • Direct client work with adults across Ontario in a telehealth setting

  • Weekly individual clinical supervision with a CRPO-registered supervisor

  • Opportunities to build real clinical competencies — strengthening your therapeutic presence, sharpening your assessment and case-conceptualization skills, and applying evidence-based approaches

  • Hands-on experience with consultation calls, intake, treatment planning, and documentation

  • A collaborative team culture that values diversity and cultural humility

  • Flexible remote scheduling that works alongside your coursework

Who we accept

We welcome students enrolled in CRPO-recognized graduate programs in counselling psychology or psychotherapy, including (but not limited to):

  • Yorkville University — Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP)

  • OISE / University of Toronto — Master of Education in Counselling Psychology (Counselling & Psychotherapy field)

  • Adler Graduate Professional School (Toronto) — Master of Psychology (MPsy)

  • Other accredited master's-level programs leading to RP

To be eligible, you should:

  • Be currently enrolled and in good standing in your program

  • Have completed the pre-practicum requirements your program asks for before client contact

  • Confirm that your program permits virtual / telehealth placements

  • Be available for the weekly hours and term length your placement requires

Students are responsible for confirming their program's specific requirements and obtaining their program's approval of the placement.

Supervision and ongoing support

Every placement student receives:

  • A minimum of one hour of individual clinical supervision per week

  • Required direct observation of sessions with structured, ongoing feedback

  • Completion of formative and summative evaluations as required by your program

  • Verification of your practicum hours through your program's system (e.g., SONIA)

  • Guidance on ethics, scope of practice, and CRPO standards throughout your placement
